VAT Exemption for OSCommerce

This OSCommerce Addon allows you to collect and check VAT numbers from EU Countries. If you're VAT Registered and you sell out of the UK to Europe, you charge VAT at the normal UK rate UNLESS you can provide evidence to the VAT man that the company you're selling to is properly VAT registered in their own country. Just ticking to say they're registered isn't enough. You need to collect and verify their VAT number.

Instructions on how to set up the Tax section of OSCommerce are provided together with the modifications you need to make so that your customers can enter VAT numbers at account creation and it will be checked for validity. Then they won't need to pay tax when buying from your store:

The process isn't automatic. You'll be sent an email by a real person and you can converse by email if you have problems or questions. (Please allow extra time if ordering in the evening or weekend (UK time - currently 17:06pm.
