Building a B2B E-Commerce Platform with Claude Code, Drupal 11, and Salesforce

When people talk about AI-assisted coding, the conversation usually centres on generating boilerplate, writing unit tests, or autocompleting functions. Those are useful capabilities, but they barely scratch the surface of what becomes possible when you pair a tool like Claude Code with a genuinely complex software project.

This article is about building a production B2B e-commerce platform using Drupal 11, Drupal Commerce, and Salesforce — with Claude Code as an active development partner throughout the process. The result is over 30,000 lines of custom code across six modules, a custom theme, a full REST API, two-factor authentication with custom encryption, and a 30-file Playwright test suite.
